My journey began more than 12 years ago—not in an office, but right on the shop floor as a CNC operator. From mastering precision tolerances to leading complex aerospace programs, I’ve built my career through hands-on expertise and relentless pursuit of quality.
After gaining experience in machining, I transitioned into inspection and quality control. During this time, I learned dimensional and visual inspection techniques for precision-welded and machined aerospace assemblies, working with tolerances as tight as ±.001 inches. This experience gave me a deep appreciation for attention to detail and the importance of delivering quality outputs every single time.
I then moved into quality engineering and aerospace welding, where I expanded my knowledge of AWS specifications and aerospace requirements. My passion for welding grew stronger every day as I developed expertise in the industry’s most critical standards, including:
I worked extensively on complex welded assemblies, from design and fixturing to setup, welding, machining, and final assembly. I also managed multiple projects involving outside processes such as non-destructive testing (NDT), heat treatment, and finishing operations — ensuring every step met strict aerospace specifications.
My journey continued as I transitioned into production control, where I applied my hands-on experience to optimize manufacturing processes and enhance quality outputs. While working full-time, I earned my Master’s Degree in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma from Central Connecticut State University in 2014.
This period strengthened my ability to manage complex projects, streamline operations, and deliver process improvements using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies. Working closely with multiple aerospace customers also helped me develop a deeper understanding of diverse specifications and compliance requirements across the industry.
I later moved into the sales and business development department, where I had the opportunity to work directly with aerospace primes and tier-one and tier-two suppliers. I attended trade shows and industry events, connecting with decision-makers, understanding client needs, and forming strong relationships with some of the biggest names in aerospace, including:
Boeing • Lockheed Martin • Sikorsky • Gulfstream • GE Aviation • Pratt & Whitney • Rolls Royce • Collins Aerospace • RTX • Beechcraft • Textron • General Dynamics • Electric Boat • ULA • Westinghouse • Bombardier • SpaceX • NASA
This exposure gave me a broad perspective on the complex requirements and high expectations of today’s aerospace and defense manufacturing ecosystem.
Eventually, I stepped into the role of General Manager, where I had the privilege of leading teams and shaping company strategy. My focus was on building strong teams, empowering employees, and ensuring we delivered top-quality products and services that met the rigorous demands of the aerospace industry.
This international exposure has provided Mohamed Amer with a strong understanding of how different manufacturing environments operate, including variations in production culture, regulatory expectations, and technical implementation of welding processes. By working directly with engineers, quality professionals, and shop-floor personnel in different regions, he has developed the ability to quickly identify operational gaps and provide practical solutions that align with both technical standards and real production conditions.
Throughout his career, Mohamed Amer has worked with manufacturing teams and suppliers across multiple regions, gaining firsthand experience with the challenges and expectations of global aerospace production.
As a welding consultant and Nadcap auditor, Mohamed Amer regularly engages with organizations around the world to review welding processes, evaluate compliance with applicable specifications, and support teams in strengthening their process controls. His experience across different countries allows him to communicate effectively with diverse teams while maintaining a consistent focus on safety, quality, and compliance for critical aerospace applications.
His work has involved collaboration with companies and technical teams in North America, Europe, and the Middle East, supporting welding operations, process control, and compliance with industry standards used throughout the aerospace and defense sector.
This global perspective enables Amer Welding Solutions to support manufacturers not only at the local level, but also across international supply chains where consistent welding process control and technical discipline are essential.
Over the years, I’ve gained hands-on expertise in welding, fabrication, machining, quality engineering, and production management. Through my experience as both a NADCAP auditee and an auditor, I’ve developed a deep understanding of what it takes to achieve and maintain compliance while delivering excellence.
My goal at Amer Welding Solutions:
To help aerospace and defense manufacturers succeed by providing solutions that meet — and exceed — industry standards and optimize performance.
For me, it’s not just about meeting specifications; it’s about having the passion and commitment to help companies perform at their absolute best.
